Our one-of-a-kind tote bags are thoughtfully made from authentic African mud cloth. African mud cloth, also called Bogolan (‘colored with earth’), is a traditional technique that has been mastered by the artisans of Mali and woven deeply into their culture. The cotton is spun, woven, dyed, and painted by hand. The beautiful earthy colors come from the natural botanicals and fermented mud used when dying. The process is completely natural and environmentally friendly.
The bottom of the bag is made from durable waxed canvas, an environmentally conscious alternative to leather. Waxed canvas is waterproof and wears well, which makes this the perfect bag for all of your travels and adventures. The strap is a repurposed vintage belt with adjustable lengths. No two belts are the same, so your bag is guaranteed to be unique. Lined with natural and simple canvas fabric, two pockets for essential items and a magnetic closure.
